Equity & Inclusion 2021 Professional Development
In order to support UF’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer is announcing a competitive program for individuals to participate in professional development training offered online by Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education. Topics of interest shall be agreed upon by the applicant and their supervisor and may cover general skill-development, leadership and management topics such as:
- Behavioral Decision Making
- Building Organizational Cultures: A Framework for Leaders
- Data-Driven Decision Making for Managers
- Essential Management Skills for Emerging Leaders
- Essential Skills for Innovation: Assessing New Business Ideas
- Leadership Communication
- Leading More Effective Teams
- Leading Through Digital Disruption
- Strategies for Leading Successful Change Initiatives
Applicants should be a UF employee within the reporting structure of the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and have been employed by UF for the period of one year, or more. Applicants should have completed coursework in one of UF’s leadership programs (ALAP, UF Academy, Manager’s Cohort, Managing at UF) or indicated a willingness to complete at least two of Managing at UF courses within six months.
Applicants must have a letter of support from their immediate supervisor and approval from the related Vice President. Letters of support should include a summary of the applicant’s work history and notable achievements, as well as the applicant’s interest in advancing women and minority issues at UF.
Applicants must also provide a personal statement of interest (maximum of 500 words) describing how they will utilize the training to pursue their personal professional development goals, including the promotion of women and minority equity within the organization. Applicants should also include a list of any UF leadership trainings that they have completed.
